Special-Lite launches a new, consolidated set of paint colors
Special-Lite, the leader in commercial door manufacturing, will consolidate its paint color options into one standard across all commercial door product lines in early February.
This new set of paint colors will coordinate with all through-color FRP door finishes, wood grain stain colors, and anodized aluminum finishes. Twenty Standard Paint Colors and 10 Wood Grain Stain Match Paint Colors will be standard.
Special-Lite’s R&D, Quality, Engineering, Logistics, Marketing, Custom Service, and Production Teams were able to make this popular request a reality in part after analyzing customers’ top choices, industry color trends, and product data. This change is another way to support Special-Lite customers efficiently while continuing to focus on the quality they expect. It will benefit architects, interior designers, and anyone who makes these choices. Color selection, ordering, and paint sample requests will all be simplified.
Another change will make it easier to incorporate Special-Lite products into future designs. Coordinating Paint Codes align with these new standard paint colors from popular paint manufacturers. That includes Sherwin Williams, PPG, and RAL, with plans to expand this offering later.
An additional change will affect the sheen of the paint used in Decatur and Benton Harbor. Orders placed after Feb. 3, 2023, will default to a satin sheen. Gloss will be available for painted fiberglass by request only.
After Feb. 3, discontinued paint colors will remain an option as a custom color request at no additional charge but may require a special paint order.
