Project: OneAmerica Tower Cafe Sliding Doors

OneAmerica Tower Cafe Sliding Doors Project

About the Building

OneAmerica Tower is a 700,000 square foot office building that rises 38 stories above downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. The building is owned by OneAmerica Financial Partners and managed by Cushman & Wakefield. OneAmerica Tower includes leased office space and a nearly unmatched list of onsite amenities including this cafe.

Sliding Door Solution

This project for the OneAmerica Cafe within the tower demonstrates our custom capabilities for crafting one-of-a-kind, durable and secure commercial interior openings. We provided six oversized 11-foot tall SL-15 Wide Stile Monumental Aluminum Doors with the Omega Interior Framing System in our Black Anodized finish. The doors in each opening all slide to one side or the other.

Our Monumental Aluminum Doors are designed to stand up to the rigors of high-traffic entrances while avoiding the unnecessary weight that would compromise the longevity of the entrance. Omega Type II Aluminum Framing is designed to provide a finished look to cased, rough openings. This project utilized the 487 Slider, a sliding door track designed for use with the Special-Lite Omega Interior Aluminum Framing system.

Thanks to our rep Glen Baines of Baines Group, Inc., Matt McCartney, Special-Lite Interior Product Specialist, and our distribution partner Architectural Glass and Metal Co. Inc. for their work on this project.

Special-Lite Rep Glen shares: “This cafeteria opening is on the main floor of the OneAmerica Tower building. This project started with an architect friend of mine looking to fill a 36′ hole in a wall that was also 11′ tall. Enter Special-Lite SL-15 doors and Omega sliding door frames. There are six doors that slide on our track, three in each direction. When closed, the center doors lock into the floor and the other doors lock into each other to provide a secure opening.”
